Established in 1917, Camp Greene transformed west Charlotte into an active military training camp, preparing over 65,000 soldiers for overseas service. Beyond its military significance, the camp brought economic growth to the city and left a lasting legacy in the community. ​

Today, the Camp Greene Memorial stands as a tribute to those who trained there, reminding us of the city's role in shaping history. ​

As we honor all who have served and sacrificed, let's remember Charlotte's own contributions to our nation's story.​
